DIY Wavy Serving Platters

The entertaining season is here and I am so excited to reveal this simple yet beautiful DIY for your tablescape. I had the idea to make these DIY Wavy Serving Platters a little while ago and I finally had some time last week to see if I could make it work. Needless to say I am beyond thrilled with how they turned out! What I love about this project is that it's quick and simple to execute - you can create any organic wavy pattern, you can paint the platters any colour you like, and you can make them taller or shorter depending on how dramatic you want them to look on your tablescape. Best of all? You can knock this project over in a few hours. Now who doesn't love that! Read on to make your own DIY Wavy Serving Platters, and as always I have included the materials I used and links to where you can find them, as well as the (very few) simple steps.

How To

Place the sheet of MDF onto your work surface. Draw the outline of your Wavy Platters onto the MDF using a pen.

Secure the MDF sheet to your work surface using clamps. Cut out the organic wavy shapes using the jigsaw. Sand the edges so they are rounded and smooth.

Cut 2 legs per platter using the jigsaw and pine plank. Test the position of the legs on each platter as you may need 3 legs depending on how long/wide your platters are!

Paint the platters and legs with at least two coats of paint. Set aside to dry. Test the position of the legs on each platter again then glue in place. Set aside to dry.

Ta daaaaa! Easy to make Wavy Platters that will make any tablescape look incredibly beautiful.

This DIY is so quick and simple to execute, which I love! But it's also very beautiful and will instantly transform a tablescape from average to amazing. Best of all? You can make these for a wedding, birthday or any other special celebration. What I love about this project is that you can totally make it your own by creating any organic wavy pattern you like. You can also paint the platters any colour, and you can make them taller or shorter depending on how dramatic you want them to look on your tablescape. Best of all? You can knock this project over in a few hours.
