My Naughty But Nice Valentine's Day Charcuterie Board

If you've never experienced love at first sight, let me introduce you to my naughty but nice Valentine's Day Charcuterie Board! It has all the things I love about a charcuterie board including fruit, nuts, sweets, crackers, chocolate and biscuits. Most importantly, as we're spending more time at home these days, my Valentine's Day Charcuterie Board is something you can easily create for your loved one/s in just a few minutes.

The thing is, I know not everyone has a sweet tooth (me included!), so I've specifically made sure there are a few savoury elements to balance out the sweetness. But if you can't indulge in a sweet and decadent charcuterie board on Valentine's Day, when can you?

For tips on putting a charcuterie board together, I have created a step by step guide here. You can also watch this little video which also shows you how to make one look absolutely beautiful.

This year, ditch the fancy flowers, take-out and chocolate and put together your own Valentine's Day Charcuterie Board! And it doesn't matter who you're celebrating with this year, whether it be yourself, your besties, your roommates, or your special someone, this board will definitely bring the naughty, but oh so nice factor.

Materials

  • A charcuterie board. Use any flat surface - a chopping board, marble serving platter, or plate. And that's it!

Colours

  • Because the theme of this charcuterie is Valentine's Day, I decided to choose food that had a colour palette of browns, creams, reds and pinks.

Ingredients

  • Biscuits/Crackers - I chose a selection of savoury/salty biscuits, sweet biscuits and chocolate biscuits.

  • Nuts - We had pistachios and raspberry covered almonds in our pantry so I used these. I find these, cashews or almonds always taste and look the nicest on charcuterie boards.

  • Fruit - This is essential for a sweet charcuterie board as it really helps to balance out the sweets. I chose strawberries and raspberries for their colours, and a passionfruit for a little "it" factor.

  • Sweet - I stuck to the colour theme for the sweets, and chose a red liquorice and my favourite biscuits of all time, Iced Vovos. I also included my favourite Chow Cocoa Coco Rough Clusters, which I chopped into small cubes.

  • Edible Flowers - I couldn't create my Valentine's Day Charcuterie Board and not include Edible Flowers from the Tewantin Garden Market, which is my favourite fresh product store on the Sunshine Coast.

Assembling

  • This is where the fun really happens! For tips on putting a charcuterie board together, I have created a step by step guide here. You can also watch this little video which also shows you how to make one look absolutely beautiful.

Happy Valentine's Day! Wink, wink...
