Recipe: Korean Dalgona Coffee
Coffee, it's liquid gold for parents of newborns, energetic toddlers and kids, and those affected by broken nighttime sleep. Even more so during self isolation. Jason usually makes Korean coffee on weekends, around lunch time, before surfing or exercising, or sometimes before he goes on a cleaning binge around the house. Given coffee shops are a rare commodity these days, we thought we'd share how to make your own Korean coffee at home using a few simple ingredients you'll most likely have in your pantry. Prepare for the zing! It's sweet, it's strong, it's super delicious and it packs a punch.
Ingredients
2 Tbsp instant coffee
2 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp water
Milk of your choice
Ice cubes
Method
Put the coffee, sugar and water into a mixing bowl.
Whip using an electric mixer until light and fluffy. This can take up to 5 minutes. And don't even bother hand whisking, it may not work or it'll take too long.
Place several ice cubes and your choice of milk into a glass.
Dollop the sweet coffee mixture on top of the milk.
And done! Grab a spoon, and stir the sweet coffee mixture into the milk.
